For years, we’ve made fatbike suspension while doing our best to ignore the elephant in the room: Most fatbike wheels leave a lot to be desired, even the ones that come on very expensive fatbikes.
Here’s our take on eliminating a bunch of fatbike headaches in one package:
NO TAPE, Tubeless Ready Out of the Box
Every spoke is seated in a neoprene bonded stainless eyelet. There is no need for tubeless tape, ever.
Stout 90mm Singlewall Aluminum Rims
Rims built like tanks but with an overall wheel weight comparable to other quality aluminum wheels on the market. How do we manage this magic? No tubeless tape and better quality spokes, nipples, and hubs.
Rims are sleeved with a chemical bond for a strong but light hoop.
Schrader Body, Presta Head Valves
Yes, we did design our own custom valve just for our wheels. Get the best of both presta and schrader valves in one package:
- Stronger overall valve with beefier body
- Bigger internal bore diameter for increased airflow for tubeless setup
- Presta core convenience
- Built from brass to last a lifetime
High Tension, 36-Spoke Wheels
Our wheels are built with 36, 13 gauge (2.3mm dia.) spokes. Most wheels use smaller 14 gauge (2mm dia.) spokes. We use brass Solid Lock Nipples that physically help retain spoke tension in their design, in addition to using spoke prep. Rim spoke holes sport stainless eyelets, further helping us push up the spoke tension of these wheels right out of the box.
Chromoly Star Ratchet Freehub
Our rear hubs are the only chromoly steel star ratchet equipped hubs you’ll find anywhere. Star ratchet design is light, strong, and incredibly low friction compared to traditional pawl freehubs. Chromoly steel allows us to produce a SIGNIFICANTLY stronger freehub than the aluminum variants that are commonplace. Even utilizing chromoly instead of aluminum for our freehubs, our hubs still come in at remarkably light weights. We also offer a 54t high engagement ratchet upgrade.
Rear hubs come 197mm stock, however, end caps are available for 190mm configurations; 12mm through axle. Front wheels are 150mm hub width with 15mm through axle.
Singlespeed Hub Option
We manufacture the world’s only Singlespeed HG 197mm fatbike hub. This hub sports our same star ratchet design, only in a stronger and more streamlined package. This hub has symmetrical hub flanges, allowing for stronger wheel building.
Ideal hub for middrive e-bikes or gearbox equipped bikes.
