32" Wheels & Suspension

As long time lovers and early adopters of all things big wheels, we're ecstatic to officially announce we're in the 32" business!

INVERTED 32" SUSPENSION

All Wren Inverted Suspension forks fit 32" wheels. Rocking a 32" wheel on our inverted suspension does require a simple internal tune which reduces the travel by 30mm but maintains the fork's full axle to crown height. This means you can run our suspension with a 32" wheel at 120mm of travel and 80mm of travel depending on which model fork you buy.

These travel reductions are absolutely vital for using 32" wheels safely with our fork. Failure to reduce your fork's travel WILL RESULT IN A VERY BAD TIME, as you will hit the fork's crown with the tire on a big impact.

In our tests, we found that the added rollover benefits of 32" wheels more than made up for the loss in travel when comparing a 29er at 150mm of front suspension vs a 32er at 120mm of front suspension. For what it's worth, we're big fans of big wheels.

32" BLUNT-NONSENSE WHEELS

Building upon our No-Nonsense product line and in partnership with legendary wheel manufacturer VELOCITY USA, we're stoked to be offering 32" wheels in all our current hub configurations equipped out of the box with our own high-end, high-flow valves.

Velocity will be using their Blunt 35 Rim extrusions to sculpt the 32" hoops for these wheels. What is there to say about the Velocity Blunt Rim that hasn't already been said? Manfucatured in the USA, this rim has withstood the test of time, appearing in virtually every rim diameter out there over the years, and now 32". These rims are available in black, silver, and polished (+$50) finishes.

32" wheel diameters make them prone to a lot of lateral stresses, as the distance from the tread to the hub is a giant lever on your spokes. We're no strangers to love or remedying torsional stressors, we do manufacture inverted suspension after all... To solve these 32" drawbacks, all our wheels sport:

• 36 spokes instead of the more common 32 spokes found in MTB wheels
• 4-cross lacing pattern rather than the standard 3-cross

Wren rear hubs all come with star ratchet, chromoly freehubs with high engagement star ratchet upgrades available. Additionally, we manufacture star ratchet singlespeed hubs - especially nice for gearbox or middrive motor builds - including the world's only 197mm HG singlespeed hub.

All Blunt-Nonsense Wheels are handbuilt in the USA.

MULLET THAT 29er

Mulleted MTBs are awesome. We ride mulleted most of the time. While you may not have a 32" MTB at your disposal right now, we do have all the moving parts to mullet your trusty steed.

It also goes without saying that altering your bike's intended geometry can have many unintended consequences. Be sure to reference your bike's geometry charts and a local bike mechanic to ensure smart choices when mulletting any bike.
